The Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program is an Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) program established in 1992.  In October 2011, the Program transitioned to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (ASA(ALT)) and is managed by the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in Vicksburg,  Mississippi.   Since its inception, the Program has realized great success in establishing world-class, state-of-the-art high performance computing capabilities within the Department's laboratories and test centers.
